Iogurel, a company renowned for producing high-quality yogurts and ice creams in Cape Verde, has taken an important step towards environmental sustainability. The company gave us almost 2000 liters of ice cream cups and bowls that had been stored for over a year. These yogurt cups and ice cream bowls, which previously posed a challenge in terms of disposal, have now been given a new lease of life thanks to the collaboration with Caboplast, a strategic partner in the field of recycling.

Recycling and Chain Innovation

Caboplast has expanded its capacity to reuse plastic waste, guaranteeing 0% internal waste. This has made it possible to reuse the cups and bowls discarded by Iogurel. This initiative symbolizes a significant step forward for the circular economy starting in Praia.

Recycled plastic has been reintegrated into the production chain, with specific application in the manufacture of plastic bags used in supermarkets, mini-markets and garbage cans. Although direct reintroduction into the food sector is not yet feasible, reuse in other products already demonstrates the positive impact of collaborative action between companies.

Positive environmental impact

This joint effort has a twofold objective:
Pollution reduction: Recycling prevents discarded plastics from contributing to Cape Verde's growing solid waste problem.
Promoting Sustainability: Iogurel reaffirms its commitment to responsible practices by seeking concrete solutions for the waste it produces.

Handing over the accumulated cups and bowls not only freed up space at Iogurel, but also marked a practical step forward in the fight against pollution. This attitude serves as an example to other local companies, showing that strategic partnerships can generate both environmental and economic benefits.
